San Andres Stripe Rug
Rug woven from sheep wool in the highlands of Chiapas, Mexico.
This rug is woven by artisans living in the mountains of Chiapas. Artisans shear the sheep, then clean the wool using carding brushes that have been in the family for generations. It is loosely spun into single-ply yarn using a traditional drop spindle. Each rug is woven using a backstrap loom and takes more than a week to make.
