This bejuco basket is handwoven by artisans in Southern Mexico. Artisans extract the strong, flexible vines from the tropical bejuco plant and dry them out in the sun. They are then peeled and and moistened before being woven into baskets. Basketry is one of Mesoamerica’s oldest crafts yet these baskets add a modern touch to a home.
