Indigo Deshilado Table Runner

Handwoven table runner made from cotton in Chiapas, Mexico.

This intricate table runner is made by artisans who specialise in backstrap weaving using cotton. Two different colour threads are used for the warp to create a beautiful, two-tone effect. Either end features a ‘deshilado‘ textile detail, typical of Southern Mexico and is finished with tassels. The process is laborious and slow and each table runner takes at least 8 days to make!
