Monte Albán Rug

This rug is handwoven by Zapotec artisans living in the Teotitlán de Valle, Mexico. Wool is dyed using natural plant recipes and woven traditional foot pedal looms. This traditional design is inspired by the archaeological ruins at Monte Albán. It includes textile representations of the “ojo de Dios” (eye of God) and “mariposas”(butterflies).
